Today was my wife and I’s 27th Wedding Anniversary. She had to work most of the day, but we fit in a couples’ one hour deep tissue massage at Norterra Day Spa. A special thanks to Nicole and Leyla who did such a great job on the massage. Hard to believe that 27 years has passed since we were married. And people said it would never last six months… I met my wife while she was working behind a counter at a restaurant. I took her out to cofffee and we had a good time. I called three times and she never called back. Months later I found myself at the same restaurant and there she was. Her brother and younger sister had never given her my phone messages. We dated every day and were married one month later. I was in the Air Force on temporary assignment in Champaign, Illinois at Chanute AFB. They used to say, “hoot me, but don’t Chanute me!” They called it an “Air Force marriage” which usually means a guy out on his own for the first time who gets married on assignment and then things fall through. In this case, they were wrong.
