It’s hard to stand out in a convention of cosplayers. Yet even among the anime characters, purple hair and monstrous beast costumes at Internet culture convention DragonCon, these two cosplayers — perfectly camouflaged in the same pattern that covered the floors of DragonCon’s Atlanta Marriott — figuratively stood out by completely blending in. The costumes were such a hit one of the cosplayers offered the perfectly Marriott-carpet-matching cloth to other attendees through online print shop Spoonflower. However, the humorless pattern-makers behind the rug’s design (Couristan, Inc.) served Spoonflower a cease-and-desist notice to prevent them from replicating the design. While actress Veronica Lake is typically assumed to be the muse behind Jessica Rabbit, it was the lesser-known and near-forgotten Vicki Dougan along with her notorious derrrière that really put Jessica on the map. Pin-up girl turned (struggling) actress, Vicki earned herself the nickname, “The Back” in 1950s Hollywood for so often wearing her outrageously provocative backless dresses.
An article that appeared in the Oakland Tribune in 1957 sheds some light on how her career as “The Back” got started thanks to a Hollywood publicist, Milton Weiss…
His first move was to have three expensive dresses made for her — without backs. He then titled his client “The Back” and had her appear at previews and parties in her plunging creations. Soon local photographers zeroed in on Miss Dougan’s bare spinal column, and gagsters began originating such cracks as, “Vikki Dougan makes the best exits in town.”
Finally Vikki was banned from someone else’s preview party because her backless formal was drawing too much attention. The incident received proper press coverage. Today Vikkie — born Edith Tooker in Brooklyn — is riding toward fame on the strength of her clothes, what there is of them. It’s a trend, all right.
Dougan then made a real impression when she first appeared in a 1957 issue of Playboy. Here she is posing for the magazine (and above)..
America had somewhat of a love-hate relationship with Vikki and her backside however, and she was often mocked in gossip columns. By 1959, Dougan and her derrière had pretty much disappeared from the Hollywood scene, unable to find work. The daring pin-up girl was forgotten along with so many other names trying to make it in showbiz, until Disney/Touchstone made a little film in 1998 called Who Framed Roger Rabbit? While Dougan received very little recognition as a Jessica Rabbit muse, her trademark style and sex appeal became iconic.
Much like Vikki, whose image was ‘created’ for her by a Hollywood publicist, Jessica Rabbit’s most memorable quote in the 1988 film hints at their connection: ”I’m not bad, I’m just drawn that way.”

Follow Me – Amazing Photographer Pics of His Girlfriend Dragging Him To New Places
Photographer Murad Osmann creatively documents his travels around the world with his girlfriend leading the way in his ongoing series known as Follow Me To. Chronicling his adventures on Instagram, the Russian photographer composes each shot in a similar fashion. We see each landscape from the photographer’s point of view with his extended hand holding onto his girlfriend’s in front of him.
With her back turned, never revealing her face to the camera, Osmann’s girlfriend guides us all on a journey across the globe to some of the most beautiful, exotic, and radiant environments. There are also comforting and familiar settings mixed in for good measure. Whether the couple is spending a romantic night in Moscow, having an exotic adventure in Asia, or simply going bowling, Osmann keeps a visual record of their escapades as he trails behind his beloved.

Remember Raising the Titanic? Now they are raising the Costa Concordia. Remember the story from just under two ago when the Cruise Ship Captain was busy wining and dining and flirting with a woman in his cabin and wanted to show off by getting close to the shore? He ended up crashing the ship into the rocky shallows off Italy. Thirty people died and two more are missing and presumed dead. 3,229 passengers and 1,023 crew known to have been aboard at the time.
Today they are still trying to get the ship raised and upright so they can cut it apart for salvage and get it off the coast of Giglio Island. Here are some photos.

#Hashtags confusing? Here is a good summary of hashtags from Faris Samawi posted at Social Media Today.
Facebook was the last of the major social networks to introduce the hashtag earlier this month. This has been greeted by mixed emotions ranging from excitement by those who use it on other social networks, to confusion at this strange symbol suddenly appearing in status updates, to indifference. So what exactly is a hashtag?
My simplified definition is hashtags are like keywords which can be used to organize messages on a social network. This then facilitates the searching and grouping of messages with given hashtags. Hashtags are preceded by the pound sign (#) and can be a word or a short phrase (i.e. #Hashtag or #ThisIsAHashtag)

Who defines hashtags?
You do. You can place a pound (#) sign in front of any keyword(s) in your message and turn them into hashtags. However, the power of hashtags comes from other people using the same keyword(s) so that by clicking on a hashtag you can get a group of other messages on that topic.
How can I use hashtags?
Typical uses of hashtags:
Hashtags should make your messages easier to organize and find. The trick is to hashtag keywords that other people would use when looking for the content contained in your message. You can do a quick search for keywords prior to posting your message to see which hashtags are popular (called “trending”).

Air compressor manufactures take note.
Polaris has begun production of a non-pneumatic tire for all terrain vehicles.
The company has begun deliveries of its MV850 ATV fitted with the flat-proof TerrainArmor tires to the U.S. Special Operations Forces, and plans to introduce a retail version soon.
The innovation is more of a wheel/tire combination that features a rubber tread band supported by a polymeric web for structure that is also able to deform like an air-filled tire as it rolls over obstacles to provide cushioning.
Polaris says the tires can take a shot from a .50 caliber round without failing, and one was driven on for over 1,000 miles off-road after it was punctured by a railroad spike. They’ve been tested up to 5,000 miles on ATVs packed with a full combat load.
Earlier this year, the company donated several of the vehicles to the Salvation Army to assist with relief efforts in the wake of the Moore tornado in Oklahoma, and says they performed perfectly while traversing the debris left by the storm.
A Polaris representative tells FoxNews.com that they are working on versions that will fit additional vehicles in the company’s lineup, including some of its side-by-side UTVs.
An official date hasn’t been announced, but he added that consumer sales could begin within six months.
