Vote for Kip Mussatt and Toni Darling!

Please sign up at this site so you can vote for Kip Mussatt and Toni Darling, both awesome people!  Toni Darling cosplays Lady Thor among other characters and Kipp Mussatt (Kipsworld) is the artist responsible for the painting below as well as many other great art pieces.  Here is here post, which I am re-posting here:

Hey so I’m in another art contest to be in a book. Toni and I would both appreciate your support. The popular vote will end up being on one of the covers + cash prize. I could still end up being selected to be in the book as I was with my image of Toni as “D’Mitra”, but it would be really nice to be on the cover

You can vote here (only once):

So I submitted this piece along with a few others a while back to another book contest. Voting ends in Nov. You can only vote once per piece and only on a few pieces. I would greatly appreciate your support. If I end up on one of the covers I will be giving away a few copies to some lucky fans!

Here is the image of @[101686536618661:274:Toni Darling] "Avenger" that I would like you to support! Thanks.

Follow Me – Amazing Photographer Pics of His Girlfriend Dragging Him To New Places

Follow Me – Amazing Photographer Pics of His Girlfriend Dragging Him To New Places

Photographer Murad Osmann creatively documents his travels around the world with his girlfriend leading the way in his ongoing series known as Follow Me To. Chronicling his adventures on Instagram, the Russian photographer composes each shot in a similar fashion. We see each landscape from the photographer’s point of view with his extended hand holding onto his girlfriend’s in front of him.

With her back turned, never revealing her face to the camera, Osmann’s girlfriend guides us all on a journey across the globe to some of the most beautiful, exotic, and radiant environments. There are also comforting and familiar settings mixed in for good measure. Whether the couple is spending a romantic night in Moscow, having an exotic adventure in Asia, or simply going bowling, Osmann keeps a visual record of their escapades as he trails behind his beloved.

The Amazing Sci-Fi Artwork of Alex Andreyev

I saw this story and collection online and thought you all might enjoy it as well.  I could write so many stories with just these pictures as prompts.  First, the pictures, then the story.  You can click on the photos to enlarge as usual.

Collection: A Separate Reality
by Alex Andreyev

Often when I start a new project, whether it be a painting or piece of animation, I ask myself the question; should I avoid doing something science-fictiony this time?
Usually the answer is no, but I can imagine that you might wonder why I’d consider avoiding the genre in the first place. Well, first and foremost there’s the whole “being called a nerd” thing that none of us like.  And then there’s this idea out there that fantasy-based art isn’t to be taken seriously. It seems that to many, otherworldly art belongs on the covers of nerdy pulp novels and role playing books, and nowhere near a gallery.
So why do sci-fi art then? What’s the point of working so hard on something that won’t ever advance your artsy street-cred?
Well, I can’t answer that question for Alex Andreyev, who’s fine work you see below, but based on my own feelings I bet I can take a guess. His work, done over a number of years, isn’t really the geeked-out sci-fi art you may have seen before. Rather Alex creates a ‘separate reality’, just as the title of his collection suggests. From his work it seems that Alex often wonders what the world would look like if things were just a little bit different, and these paintings may be an attempt to find out for himself.
In my opinion, that’s why sci-fi art is so prevalent, even if it’s never widely appreciated. It’s a venue for a certain type of person to ‘see’ the worlds they otherwise could only imagine. It’s a place where people who feel constrained by this reality can go have a romp outside of it. It’s not meant for galleries, because sci-fi art is a highly personal, self indulgent genre, made more for the artist him/her self rather than any particular viewer.
Well, I suppose at least that’s why I do it. Enjoy Alex’s work, and follow the links below the gallery to learn more.

Amazing Portraits Drawn with Chalk

Rubén Belloso Adorna  draws portraits with hyper realism using only chalk.  Wow.

PHOTO-REALISTIC PORTRAITS DRAWN WITH CHALK

We’ve all had our eyes fooled by artists with photorealistic techniques such as Pedro Campos’ picture perfect oil paintings, Paul Cadden’s hyperrealistic pencil drawings, Samuel Silva’s ballpoint pen drawing, and Nathan Welsh’s city paintings, but never before had we seen it done with chalk…until now! Rubén Belloso Adorna of Seville, Spain creates enormous portraits that are so detailed, you would not believe they are not photographs, but they are actually drawings made with chalk pastels. You can see the true magnitude of each drawing when you see the photos of Adorna working on them, yet even when you zoom in and look closely they still look like a high definition photo.

The 26 year old artist holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Seville. He has received much recognition for his work throughout Spain and internationally, with exhibitions in galleries throughout Italy, Spain, and Portugal. Check out more of Adorna’s impeccable masterpieces and show him some love on hisdeviantART, Facebook, and blogspot.

Amazing Landscape Art You Won’t Believe

When you see the first picture, you swear it is a high definition photo of a real place.  Then you get to see how Matthew Albanese created the scene and then set up lighting and the shooting angles.  Amazing.

Matthew Albanese creates models of nature with fake fur, cotton wool, grout and cleverly placed lights. The effect is mesmerizing and indescribably beautiful.  See much more at Matthew Albanese’ amazing work at his website HERE

Leaf Art

This is reposted from The Chive on the art of Lorenzo Manuel Duran –

Lorenzo Manuel Durán is an artist from Cáceres, Spain. Starting with more traditional oil paintings, he found himself inspired one day by a caterpillar eating a leaf. The moment propelled him to try cutting a leaf with a scalpel. That was 2008, and the rest is history.

Through a lengthy process of trial and error, Durán has developed his own leaf-cutting technique, taking great care not to ‘spoil’ the leaf during the cutting process. His main tools are a surgical scalpel and dental-pointed device that helps him remove the cut parts from the leaf.
